I got quite large pores on my face, especially my nose, and they look kinda clogged up. I shower every day, usually shampoo my face, it gives me dry skin for a few hours but the pores still look clogged. Any methods / tips on unclogging them? And / or making the pores smaller? ThanksBlackheads?
Biore pore strips (found in the beauty section in any grocery or drug store) work great as do their pore refining cleanser wich helps to clean and then shrink your pores. The problem is that regular cleaning just doesnt cut it when it comes to black heads and it would be a huge pain to try to pop them all (though you can pop them eww) You'll be amazed teh first time you use a pore strip it'll look like a porcupine!Blackheads?
Sadly, theres no way to get rid of whiteheads or blackheads for good. There are many ways to remove what you have and prevent them from occurring as often as they normally do.
The idea is to exfoliate and keep your pores clean at all times.you can use a gentle exfoliator with salicylic or glycolic acid which zaps the bacteria out of your pores as well. You can also try the natural healing power of the tea tree oil. Most important not to pick on whiteheads or blackheads.
The products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.
Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser for acne and Biore warming facial scrub every morning for blackheads (This stuff works. I notcied a DRASTIC diffrence in my blackeads being GONE within 2 weeks) . And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!
use those pore strips for your nose. the best time to use it is right after you shower.
hi, i have the same problem as u but not the way u tell me. i found out that you don't use shampoo on Ur face as it only helps ur hair not pores usasully you use clear and clear or a really good blackhead brand from wherever your from but when you go to the supermarket read the front or back of the container. and my face is looking really good but only use it when it says to .

the best thing i ever got is the acnefree kit. you can get it in almost every store. the kit includes a washing lotion, a cleanser and a moisturizing lotion and the thing that you'd likee the most the blackhead terminator. it really works and is much cheaper than proactive. after 2 days you can already see a big difference!
Home Remedies to Get Rid of Blackheads:
Boil some oatmeal in a little water. Cool it and add some lemon juice and mix it well. Apply on the face.
Warm a little honey and apply on the trouble spots. Wash it after 10 鈥?15 minutes.
Beat an egg white part. Add 1 teaspoon honey and with a cotton swab, apply it on face. Keep it for around half an hour. Rinse with warm water.
Apply grated potatoes to treat blackheads. It is a good treatment.
Take 1 teaspoon lime juice mixed with 1 teaspoon of finely powdered cinnamon. Apply it at bed time and wash it off in the morning.
Take lime juice, almond oil and glycerime in equal proportion. Make a lotion and apply it on face. It is an excellent method to remove blackheads as well as spots on the face.
Apply undiluted lemon juice on the affected area. Do this 2 -3 times a day.
Take 2 teaspoons soda bicarbonate. Add this to 3 -4 cups of boiled water. Steam a towel in this and place the towel on face. Repeat this around 5 -6 times a day. Now make a paste by mixing 1 teaspoon curd and 1 teaspoon of rice flour. Rub this paste on the area of blackheads and on getting dry, wash it off with cold water.
Mix almond meal with enough water to make a paste. Apply to pores for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then apply witch hazel or a solution of apple cider vinegar and water.
