How can I get rid of blackheads?

I get them really big all over my nose. I've done everything. I've tried the strips, all kinds of masks and scrubs, Proactive, gotten facials regularly, etc. Nothing has helped. Is there any highly effective clinical strength product I can try? I am also open to home remedies if there be any in existance. How can I get rid of blackheads?

pop them and wash face a lot and use mask
The best way is to extract them. For the best results, have a dermotologist do it. They have a really neat tool that sqeezes everything out, leaving no scars and nothing left inside.
laser
have you tried st. ives aporicot blackhead elminating scrub? works like a charm, give it try
Go visit a dermatologist. Find the cause for the blackheads and they can help you with a treatment.
Wash your skin at least 3 times a day and avoid greasy foods.
You should wash your face twice a day - everyday (morning and night) with a good deep pore cleanser and use a good mask 3 times a week. The best product that I know of is Glyco Essentials from Seriesse. You can find them at www.myseriesse.com/bhharris.

I hope you give it a try and let me know how it works for you!
You can use products from Mario Badescu and/or use a hot wet rag on your nose or steam it and pick and squeeze it out with a tweezer then.
k well this is how blackheads are formed, Our skin contains hundreds of tiny pores. Blackheads occur in partially blocked pores. When sebum, dead cells, and bacteria drain slowly to the surface of the skin, the pigments in the skin turn black on oxidization. This forms skin eruptions in the form blackheads.

They are therefore yellowish or blackish on the surface of your skin. The material inside a blackhead consists of keratin and sebum- which is the oily substance that comes out from sebaceous glands.

Causes of blackheads,

1.Lack of water in one's body.

2.Excess dead cells blocking the opening to the pore.

3.Excess production of facial oil.

4.Improper cleansing routine wherein the facial oil may not be getting removed.

5.Excess scrubbing of the skin.

6.Use of products/makeup that may contain too much of oil.

7.Medical problems like indigestion, constipation, under active thyroid and anemia are also considered as contributing factors to blackheads.

It is very difficult to keep your hands off the blackhead or blemish that may appear on your skin. You always consciously or unconsciously, tend to squeeze your blackheads. But contrary to the popular beliefs, the fact is, “gentle removal of your blackheads” can actually help in reducing and preventing any further damage to your skin. But, the golden question here is how to remove a blackhead...

1. Light squeezing: You can remove the stuff from inside a blackhead with light handed squeezing. Such a process can actually help the skin. Yes, squeezing is detrimental to the skin, but how you squeeze determines whether it harms the skin or benefits it. Gentle is the key word and you have to be careful not to over squeeze it.

2. Using products for exfoliating: You can use some low potency benzoyl peroxide exfoliating product for removing dead skin cells. It is very effective on the blackheads and is mild to your skin as well. In this way you can remove even the most stubborn blackheads. Also, microdermabrasion can be used to remove stubborn blackheads.

3.Topical retinoids: Topical retinoids such as Retin-A help in battling against the blackheads, successfully. It also removes and prevents the formation of the blackheads. It reduces oil secretion and unclogs the pores by promoting normal functioning of the cells. However, it is a long process.

4. Chemical peel

5. Diet/Food: You also need to alter your bad eating habits. You need to naturally reduce the oil production, initiate appropriate moisture for the skin and reduce acne. Drink lots of water and avoid oil food. Also, include lots of fresh vegetables and fruits in your diet. Cooked carbohydrates and fats are a big no no and use raw fats such as olive oil in your recipes.

umm i have to say my answer is like the best one ever... soo if you like it.. make me you 'best answer'. thanks, and GOOD LUCK! =]
pop them...
Conventional cleaning methods are quite enough. What reader needs is means to keep hands off and show another face to passer-by. Masking is best. Fabric is best both for its ability to endure automatic wash cycles and not being

hard to locate. Motorcycle catalogs offer masking styles.

Suggest any that wick away moisture and are a little loose

so skin creams stay on. Cultivate Gothic-look in clothing

or take up biking. Provide source for expensive masking

if reader wants X-Rated attire; don't gag just yet.
well there's a couple of answers to that question. you can go to a dermatologists and have them removed with a treatment or you can use facial products like clean %26amp; clear or proactiv (proactiv does work, i can assure you that)... hope it works
you should try to clean your face with only cold water
Use a product that contains a 1-2% salicylic acid it will help your pores let oil flow through them more easy preventing blackheads and helping clear the ones you have. Check out the drug stores and read the back of products and if you see salicylic acid listed that should help you. I like olay total effects anti-aging anti-blemish daily moisturizer. I myself have combination skin and battle both blackheads and acne. Products designed for acne are typically not effective on blackheads. Hope that helps!
your doctor/dermatologist can give you something make an appointment with them
wash your face with soap and warm water everymorning when you wake up and everynight before you go to bed.
mix baking soda in water to make a paste, and apply heavily to affected area. this should dry out your skin and stop you getting spots (blackheads, whiteheads)

repeat morning and night daily.

good luck!
I use baking soda made into a paste with water and then I add a few drops of tea tree essential oil. Then scrub the affected area for 2-3 min and rinse. You can also make a paste and then let the baking soda dry as a mask. (Helps with acne) Also make sure you have a good skincare regime and you are cleaning the affected area with blackheads 2x a day so it's clean.

Hope this helps!!!
you are using the stripes wrong. I did too.

1. Steam your face once a week for 3 to 4 minutes to open up the pores. Squeeze the blackheads out gently using cotton pads dipped in astringent or clean tissue. You may also use blackhead strips. If the blackheads strips are used directly without steaming, the size of the pores will increase every time they are used, causing more blackheads. To close the pores, rub an icecube made of rosewater on the pores.
Cleanse your face with unboiled milk, gently rub a coarse cloth dipped in milk to remove the blackheads. Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness. Check out http://useinfo-blackhead.blogspot.com/ for more useful tips to control blackheads.
Cleanse the face thoroughly with a good cleanser meant for oily skin. Preferrably use a salicylic acid cleanser.

Apply an astringent like witch hazel. It helps reduce oiliness. If its a bit harsh mix a bit of rose water in it.

Apply a good quality medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. You can get creams or gels of Benzoyl Peroxide treating blackheads If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide.

Effective Tips to get rid of blackheads

•Exfoliate the blackhead prone area 3-4 times a week using facial exfoliators and scrubs.

•Use creams containing AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells and ';expose'; the blackhead. Use the AHA's every 3 days or so.

•Avoid washing the face with soaps more than twice a day. Instead wash your face often with plain water splashes.

•Often use a mask with a clay base.

If blackheads look ready to pop out, you could try removing them gently by using a blackhead extractor. Also, Pore cleanser strips (blackhead extractor) for removal of blackheads are highly recommended for the treatment/removal of blackheads. Using them once per week will leave your pores cleaner and smaller.

Steam your face to soften both the skin and the material blocking the pores.
